Growing up I was very active, I participated in all different kinds of sports from basketball and soccer to jiujitsu and kickboxing. I was never the biggest or strongest at any of them but I worked hard to perfect my technique and understand the concepts and mechanics of my movements to try and keep up with my more naturally talented teammates. It took many years and lots of ups and downs to grasp how important discipline and hard work are to achieving the goals you set for yourself.

Sophomore year of college I suffered a dislocated elbow during Jiujitsu practice. The rehab that followed required me to finally get into the weight room to recover properly from my injury. I had never really lifted weights despite being pretty active in sports, along the way I discovered CrossFit in 2009 and became hooked. I really enjoyed training in all the different aspects of the methodology from the Olympic lifting, gymnastics skills, and even the high-intensity conditioning. I started coaching CrossFit in 2013 and have not looked back since!

Passing on knowledge is a passion of mine. I want the athletes I work with to truly understand that age is just a number! Helping others achieve their goals while avoiding the pitfalls and mistakes I made on my journey is very important to me. I want to leverage the lessons I learned along the way to help the athletes in our community grow and chase whatever goals they set for themselves.
